Registration & Welcoming 7:00 am - 2:30 pm Ball Field Entrance TASKS: Welcoming, greeting Handling pre-registered (collect waiver,direct) Handling drop-ins (waiver,assign&direct) Giving out T-shirt, wristbands Nametags Keeping track of tools brought Traffic Control/Parking (drop-off area) Running tools & equipment to areas

Tunes & Tales With Kelly Russell

Tuesday, July 27th at 8:00pm at the Legion - Kelly Russell will perform an evening of Tunes & Tales with all proceeds in aid of the Playground Project. Tickets are $10.00 at the door - and you will be truly entertained with story and song of true Newfoundland tradition. Prizes/ticket draws.

Correction: there will be no access for under 19. A great success and fun had by all. Thank you so much Kelly, Tonya, Naomi and Tamsyn along with the R.C. Legion for your contribution to this great project.

Thank you to the community for your support to the Playground Project and the Wabana Boys & Girls Club. Your support is greatly appreciated by both these groups. Also thank you to the Wabana Boys & Girls club for hosting this event and willing to support the Playground Project by splitting the proceeds of the fundraising event with us. It was a great evening had by all.

Signage/Memorial Assistance and Build Day Needs

The community park will soon be a reality - your help is needed. The park need signage stating the name of the park and a memorial stating the dedication of the park. A story book display would be great for this.


This is where the help is needed - we will need the following:
- 4x4's pressure treated
- Signage stating the name of the park
- Interpretation Display of the dedication
- 2x10's or wider for signage area

- Build day we need food for volunteer workers, canopy tents, refreshments, etc.

As a community we will work together and make this happen.

The Jessica Campaign

The Jessica Campaign has become a supporter of the Bell Island Playground Project. This year Bell Island is also included in the annual "The Jessica Campaign Safety Week" which is August 1 to 7. As part of safety awareness there will be a bike-a-thon on Sunday, August 1 at 10:00am starting from the RCMP station. Helmet must be worn during the bike-a-thon. Every $10.00 in sponsors received a ticket will be given for a chance to win 1 of 50 helmets. One win per entrant. Great way to get a new helmet and show support for the Playground Project and The Jessica Campaign. Bell Island Day





What a great success. We had several booths. Thanks to The Tucker Family, Rhiannon, Emily, Nicole, Ashley, Lori, Stephanie, and the committee for helping make the day great. Thanks to everyone for helping set things up. Close to $3000.00 was raised today from booths and donations from Extreme DJ Services, Walter Dicks Ltd., Bell Island Sr. Blue Hockey team, Bell Island Wanted hockey team, and various community people. Thank you so much for everyone giving from the heart and showing spirit. The community support all day and evening long was overwhelming with pride in our community. Thank you everyone.

Today's Car Wash was a huge success!! Thank you to all who showed up to support the cause! FISH N' BREWIS TAKEOUT - A great success - Thank you volunteers and committee members.  Fish N' Brewis sales will take place throughout the next few events hosted by the playground project.

July 1 - Canada Day - A great success. Thank you to Ashley, Cameron, Naomi, Kelly, Tamsyn, Kianna, Kaylee, Krista, the Toll Bridge Gang (Team Teen) and the Committee. A big thank you to the Canada Day Committee for having a great event.

July 26 - Black & White Lounge - A great success.  Hosted a community support dance to assist with the Playground Project.
